Volunteers, voluntary and community action and the third sector are at the heart of building more sustainable and resilient communities.

As a result, support for the sector is needed today more than ever so that we can engage, enable and empower individuals, groups and organisations to achieve their potential and the communities of which they are a part.

This is where Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council comes in.

As a charity operating since 1996, our members are at the heart of what we do.

Our mission is building resilient communities through voluntary action and social enterprise, providing excellent support for our members and being an influential voice

Our small dedicated team aims to have as great an impact as we can with the resources that we have.

As a charity, we are independent of government (both local and national) and from public sector organisations so we will always put the needs and interests of #DenbighshireVolunteers and the third sector in Denbighshire first.

This means from time to time we will challenge our public sector partners and government to share power and resources, so that we are all enabled to be part of the solution as equal and valued partners.

Our Sector Support service is resource intensive, but we are investing in it because we believe providing support to volunteers, voluntary and community groups, charities, social enterprises and community interest companies is the key to building resilient communities.

We provide a wealth of information and resources to volunteers, voluntary and community groups, and third sector organisations as part of member benefits and we want to keep our services as accessible as we can, and to reach as many people as we can. This is why we offer FREE membership to volunteers, voluntary and community groups and third sector organisations operating in Denbighshire with an annual income of less than £50,000. To read more about our Fee Structure based on turnover and our different stakeholders please click here.

As part of this approach, we ask our partners - public sector organisations and businesses operating in Denbighshire - to pay a little more. We believe this approach is fairer - and it allows us to get help and support to those that need it most.

Without core funding from the Welsh Government we could not exist.

So looking to the future, we also need to focus on our own enterprise development, raise more money and secure more service level agreements from public sector organisations and business so we can enhance our own sustainability and continue to provide excellent sector support.

If you like what we are about, then join us in building a movement for change in Denbighshire.
