We have also been working on two new grant rounds which will be launched on our website.

  • Our Dementia Aware Denbighshire grant will be available for charities, community groups, town and community councils, third sector organisations, small businesses and individuals working to spread dementia awareness across Denbighshire.

  • The Youth-Led grants will be open to organisations which helps young people within six priority areas set by the Welsh Government: early years, better mental health, housing, skills and employability, social care and decarbonisation.

Both grant rounds will be operated through a rapid grant decision-making process with applications being considered on a rolling basis until funds are disbursed. Keep an eye on our socials for the announcements and the link to the grant application form.

We are also using the socials as a way of delivering our services, reaching out to and engaging in conversations, and not just to broadcast our news and that of our members and partners.

Our Network meetings - #DenbighshireVolunteers, Wellbeing and Dementia Aware Denbighshire - are all organised to the year end, allowing for great conversation, inspiration, peer learning and partnership opportunities. You can register to attend these here and also find out about all the other FREE learning courses available.

Our low cost online learning credits are also great for individuals, groups, social enterprises and small business.
Email Rhys@dvsc.co.uk if you want to know more.

Since 23 March when the PM announced the national Lockdown, the iconic Naylor Leyland Centre, our community hub in the heart of Ruthin has been closed to the public. It still is.

Behind the scenes, we have been really busy planning the refurbishment and refresh of this beautiful building and we continue to innovate and adapt our services. We are also delivering our bilingual services remotely.

We are available by the phone, online chat or email and on occasion will pop up in places around Denbighshire where necessary and as conditions allow, subject to social distancing and following Welsh Government guidance.

We are also working behind the scenes to kickstart some exciting new projects that had to be postponed briefly during Lockdown. So follow us on twitter, @DVSC_Wales to get the news hot off the press.

With these, as with everything else, we are having to improvise, think creatively, and imaginatively about how we can deliver these projects, work with and support you. Together I know we can catalyse positive change in our communities. If you're a change maker, join us and help to build a positive movement for change.

Let’s use this period of change to test and learn, to Build Back Better and to keep on Innovating!
