Thank you for stepping up as #DenbighshireVolunteers!

In the last week 21 DVSC's #COVID19 Volunteer Community Responders supported 74 people in need throughout the county helping them with their shopping, prescriptions or a telephone chat.

Since the beginning of April, #TeamDVSC working with our #COVID19Volunteer Community Responders has provided almost 375 people in need throughout the county. This does not include all the voluntary action happening in neighbourhoods around the County.

If you want to help your community, sign up as #DenbighshireVolunteer and join one of these opportunities:

• Care volunteers for Denbighshire County Council: bit.ly/CareVolunteers_Needed_DCC Support Care Homes in Denbighshire to give people friendship in their twilight years!

DVSC is giving all our #COVID19 Volunteer Community Responders a FREE online course of

their choice, to show our appreciation for stepping up and bearing with us at this busy time whilst we work to place volunteers. A full list of the courses can be found here.

Qualifying volunteers are welcome to choose any course they like. Some of our recommendations are:

• Coronavirus Awareness and Control

• Mental Health Awareness

• Dementia Awareness

• Safeguarding Adults Awareness

• Dignity, Privacy and Respect

• Loss and Bereavement

• Manual Handling of Inanimate Objects

• Stress Awareness

Claiming your FREE online learning credit is simple!

STEP 1: Take a look at over 60 courses available here

STEP 2: Select the course you would like to enrol in

STEP 3: Email our Enterprise and Learning Officer Rhys, rhys@dvsc.co.uk or our Business Support Coordinator Abi, abi@dvsc.co.uk with the course you would like to enrol in or give them a call on 08124 702 441 for advice.

STEP 4: You’ll receive a Welcome email with login details to our online portal. Follow the link and enrol in your course.

STEP 5: After completing, sit back with a cup of tea and wait for your accredited CPD (Continuing Professional Development) certificate to land in your inbox.

All our #DenbighshireVolunteers registered with DVSC will be getting follow up calls from #TeamDenbighshire to find out more about their skills, interests, and appetite for the range of tasks and volunteer opportunities we anticipate being needed in the days, weeks and months ahead.

This telephone campaign is being enabled thanks to Denbighshire County Council redeploying staff to support our #COVID19 Volunteer Community Response.

ID badges for registered #COVID19 DenbighshireVolunteers will be distributed to build confidence and ensure our #COVID19 Volunteer Community Response is safe, effective and bolsters community confidence and spirit.

This #TeamDenbighshire multi-agency approach is designed to help individuals andcommunities to Stay Strong, Stay Safe and Stay Positive during the #COVID19 pandemic.

Diolch am gamu i fyny fel #GwirfoddolwyrSirDdinbych!

Yn ystod yr wythnos ddiwethaf gwnaeth 21 o Ymatebwyr Gwirfoddol yn y Gymuned i #COVID19 CGGSDd gefnogi bron i 74 o bobl mewn angen trwy’r sir, trwy roi cymorth gyda’u siopa, presgripsiynau neu sgwrs ar y ffôn.

Ers dechrau Ebrill, mae #TîmCGGSDd yn gweithio gyda’r Ymatebwyr Gwirfoddolwyr yn y Gymuned i #COVID19 wedi darparu cefnogaeth i oddeutu 375 o bobl mewn angen yn y sir. Nid yw hyn yn cynnwys yr holl weithredu gwirfoddolsy’n digwydd mewn cymdogaethau ledled y sir.
