DVSC is the leadership body in Denbighshire for celebrating, promoting and supporting #DenbighshireVolunteers and we join forces with our partners in Third Sector Support Wales to inspire voluntary action throughout Wales.
Our base in Ruthin is the hub for promoting volunteering and voluntary action in Denbighshire but we work throughout Denbighshire supported by outreach events, our digital hub, and ongoing public engagement campaigns to celebrate and inspire #DenbighshireVolunteers. We work throughout the year but from the 1-7 June each year we come together for a Big Celebration as part of nationwide Volunteers Week celebrations.
Our Volunteer Hub promotes and enhances individual and community wellbeing through voluntary action and we have 6 core functions:
· Promoting and celebrating volunteering
· Developing good practice through networking, learning and training opportunities
· Developing volunteering opportunities
· Policy and campaigning
· Strategic development of volunteering
· Brokerage
Our digital hub, DenbighshireVolunteers.net now has an enhanced digital platform which empowers members of the public to register their interest in volunteering, find opportunities for themselves and to record their volunteer hours. Volunteer involving organisations can also register volunteer placement opportunities and post information about events, activities and training available.
Our mission is to provide excellent support to volunteers, volunteer involving organisations and the third sector and to be an influential voice in Denbighshire.
You can access advice and guidance and if you are a volunteer, voluntary and community group, third sector organisation or Social Enterprise, you also benefit from Sector Support.
We offer a range of networking, learning and training opportunities for members as well as affordable training to volunteers in other organisations.
We provide bespoke consultancy and advice to organisations in the public and private sector that want to improve their volunteer involvement, and can also run highly effective public engagement campaigns with organisations that wish to partner with us under the #DenbighshireVolunteers brand.

Hello again … … today we have a small favour to ask. Volunteers, voluntary and community action and the third sector are at the heart of building more sustainable and resilient communities and we need them more than ever.
DVSC receives core funding from the Welsh Government but we need to raise more money so that we can continue to provide excellent sector support - whether you're a volunteer, voluntary and community group or a third sector organisation.
We can provide a wealth of information and resources and we want to keep our services as accessible as we can, and to reach as many groups as we can. So we think it’s fair to ask people who visit us often for their help - if they feel able to give it.
Our Sector Support service is resource intensive, but we are investing in it because we believe providing support to volunteers, voluntary and community groups, charities, social enterprises and community interest companies - has to be at the heart of what we do. If you like what we are about, and you want to help support it, our future would be much more secure.
