PRESS RELEASE (32) DVSC ANNOUNCES ITS VOLUNTARY SERVICES EMERGENCY FUND FOR 2021.

[Please scroll down for Welsh]

Ruthin – 26 April 2021 - DVSC is delighted to launch its Voluntary Services Emergency Fund for 2021. A total of £20,000 has been made available by the Welsh Government to support voluntary community action in Denbighshire!

Voluntary and community groups, not for profit organisations and registered charities can apply for up to £2,000. The fund offers support to voluntary sector organisations and community groups. Its purpose is to enable those providing vital support to people in isolation, the elderly, carers, people struggling to access food etc.

“This new grant round follows a highly successful grant round last year which supported local voluntary and community action and initiatives during the beginning of the pandemic in May 2020”, said Rhys.

“Although similar to last year’s grant this year will have an extra emphasis on ensuring a fair and just recovery in Wales. We are operating a rapid grant decision-making process with applications being considered on a rolling basis until funds are disbursed. Denbighshire voluntary groups and organisations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure their initiative or project receives funding!”

Projects must meet one of three funding criteria:

  • Maintain or increase activities that support the vulnerable and local communities during the #COVID19 pandemic.

  • Ensure third/voluntary sector organisations have the resources needed to deliver vital services for their communities e.g., volunteer expenses.

  • Encourage stringent health and safety protocols for volunteer activities to safeguard volunteers, beneficiaries, and voluntary sector staff e.g., PPE, hand sanitiser.

  • Re-opening community facilities to provide safe and secure spaces for people to meet and resume community activities.

Examples of activities that could be supported:

  • Initiatives to support improved mental health and reduces social isolation.

  • Initiatives to enable individuals to resume attending local groups and activities e.g., community transport to local venues.

  • Initiatives to support meals on wheels services or get food to people in need.

  • Capacity building for organisations and groups that wish to re-open community venues.

…and lots more!

Gall grwpiau gwirfoddol a chymunedol, sefydliadau dielw ac elusennau cofrestredig wneud cais am hyd at £2,000. Mae'r gronfa'n cynnig cefnogaeth i sefydliadau'r sector gwirfoddol a grwpiau cymunedol. Ei bwrpas yw galluogi'r rhai sy'n darparu cefnogaeth hanfodol i bobl ar wahân, yr henoed, gofalwyr, pobl sy'n ei chael hi'n anodd cael gafael ar fwyd ac ati.

“Mae’r grant newydd yma yn dilyn rownd grant hynod lwyddiannus y llynedd a gefnogodd weithredu a mentrau gwirfoddol a chymunedol lleol yn ystod dechrau’r pandemig ym mis Mai 2020”, meddai Rhys.

“Er ei fod yn debyg i grant y llynedd, eleni bydd pwyslais ychwanegol ar sicrhau adferiad teg a chyfiawn yng Nghymru. Rydym yn gweithredu proses benderfynu grantiau cyflym gyda cheisiadau yn cael eu hystyried ar sail dreigl nes bod cronfeydd yn cael eu talu. Anogir grwpiau a sefydliadau gwirfoddol Sir Ddinbych i wneud cais cyn gynted â phosibl i sicrhau bod eu menter neu brosiect yn derbyn cyllid! ”

Rhaid i brosiectau fodloni un o dri maen prawf cyllido:

• Cynnal neu gynyddu gweithgareddau sy'n cefnogi'r cymunedau bregus a lleol yn ystod y pandemig # COVID19.

• Sicrhau bod gan sefydliadau’r trydydd sector / gwirfoddol yr adnoddau sydd eu hangen i ddarparu gwasanaethau hanfodol ar gyfer eu cymunedau e.e., costau gwirfoddolwyr.

• Annog protocolau iechyd a diogelwch llym ar gyfer gweithgareddau gwirfoddol i ddiogelu gwirfoddolwyr, buddiolwyr, a staff y sector gwirfoddol e.e., PPE, glanweithydd dwylo.

• Ailagor cyfleusterau cymunedol i ddarparu lleoedd diogel i bobl gwrdd ac ailddechrau gweithgareddau cymunedol.

Enghreifftiau o weithgareddau y gellid eu cefnogi:

• Mentrau i gefnogi gwell iechyd meddwl ac yn lleihau arwahanrwydd cymdeithasol.

• Mentrau i alluogi unigolion i ailddechrau mynychu grwpiau a gweithgareddau lleol e.e., trafnidiaeth gymunedol i leoliadau lleol.

• Mentrau i gefnogi gwasanaethau prydau ar olwynion neu i gael bwyd i bobl mewn angen.

• Meithrin gallu ar gyfer sefydliadau a grwpiau sy'n dymuno ailagor lleoliadau cymunedol.

… A llawer mwy!
