Spotlight on young people in Volunteers Week with the Launch of Denbighshire Youth Led Grants Scheme
The Denbighshire Youth Led Grants programme opens for business on 5 June. The deadline for applications is the end of July 2019.
To raise the profile of this innovative and exciting programme DVSC is hosting a #YouthGrants Networking Event during Volunteers Week, which this year runs from the 1st-7th June.
The event will be held on the 4th June at Hwb Denbigh and 6.30pm – 8.30pm and includes refreshments, and time for networking and asking questions about the grants, examples of best practice and the support DVSC can offer. The event is free and can be booked here.
During the launch successful recipients from the previous round of DVSC’s Youth Led Grants programme will be showcasing their projects showing how youth led activities can make a positive impact on the lives of young people and the local communities where they live.
The launch of the Youth Led Grants follows a successful pilot in 2018-2019 that took place throughout Wales under the umbrella of the Third Sector Support Wales consortium. DVSC is the delivery arm of Third Sector Support Wales in Denbighshire.
As with the pilot, DVSC’s Youth Panel will review applications and make funding decisions on DVSC’s Youth Led grants with young people being put in the lead as decision makers; reviewing applications and deciding which ones are awarded. You can read the press release about our Youth Panel here.
This year, DVSC’s Denbighshire Youth Led Grants scheme has 6 priorities, in line with the wellbeing goals, (early years, better mental health, housing, skills and employability, social care) with a sixth priority of decarbonisation being added to the priority list. Only applications that address one or more of these priorities will be eligible.
These six priorities have been identified by Welsh Government and stakeholders as having the potential to make the greatest contribution to long-term prosperity and well-being.
Up to £5000 is available and the threshold for applications has been increased from £400 to £2,500 to allow for eye catching initiatives that can build capacity for youth led activity. However, it will ultimately be young people themselves who will decide which applications should be awarded or not.
Helen Wilkinson, DVSC’s Chief Executive says: “With the Future Generations and Wellbeing Act in mind, it is timely that we focus on investing resources in young people and put young people in the lead as decision makers. This is not just about the way we engage young people in volunteering opportunities, it is about meeting the needs of the new generation and genuinely empowering them as decision makers, influencers, and change agents in their communities. We are committed to investing resources and empowering young people”.
Our experience running the pilot last year also showed that there is a need to develop understanding within voluntary and community groups and third sector organisations about what it means to put young people in the lead. By holding the Celebration event showcasing some of the great initiatives we funded last time, we also hope to highlight what it means to put young people in the lead.”

National Volunteers Weekis an annual national campaign which runs from 1-7 June. As part of our contribution to this national campaign, DVSC will be hosting several events and activities in partnership with our members and partners.
Our role is to act as catalysts and to amplify the activities that are taking place across the County. So, we are effectively only as good as the information we receive from you all! So please share your plans with us and let's make this a great big celebration of
If you are not able to attend one of our events, you can still be involved. We will be running a social media campaign through Facebook and twitter, @DVSC_Wales to promote Volunteers Week and to do a Social media Shout out for all those #DenbighshireVolunteers who have made a difference in the last 12 months. So please take part in this campaign.
There are several ways in which you can contribute directly to this social media campaign.
Participate via social media and take part in @DVSC_Wales weeklong twitter fest using the hashtags #DenbighshireVolunteers #VolunteersWeek or join us for the nationwide celebration on Monday June 3, 11am-noon
You can share information about our events and activities as widely as possible through social media, your contacts and your website
You can send us information about your events and activities, and we will share your information through social media and websites
You can share your own volunteer story on our new website, or you can share your story about how the work of volunteers benefits your group, organisation or society for the better
You can also spread the word and encourage people who have volunteered that you know to share their stories on DenbighshireVolunteers.net
And finally, if there are volunteers who have made a real difference to your voluntary and community group or organisation over the last year you can nominate them for a Celebratory Shout out by emailing - engagement@dvsc.co.uk providing name, contact details, and why (in no more than 250 words) their voluntary efforts deserve to be celebrated. If you have a photograph of them to share all the better or you can fill in the form on our website.

Bydd rhaglen Grantiau dan arweiniad Ieuenctid Sir Ddinbych yn agor ar 5 Mehefin. Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer ceisio am grant yw diwedd Gorffennaf 2019.
Er mwyn codi proffil y rhaglen gyffrous ac arloesol hon rydym ni’n cynnal Digwyddiad Rhwydweithio #GrantiauIeuenctid yn ystod Wythnos Gwirfoddolwyr, a gynhelir rhwng
1-7 Mehefin eleni.
Cynhelir y digwyddiad ar 4 Mehefin yn HWB Dinbych rhwng 6.30pm a 8.30pm a bydd yn cynnwys lluniaeth ysgafn, amser i rydweithio a gofyn cwestiynau am y grantiau, gweld enghreifftiau o arfer orau a’r cymorth y gall CGGSDd ei gynnig. Mae’r digwyddiad hwn am ddim a gellir trefnu lle yma
Bydd y rhai fu’n llwyddiannus yn sicrhau grantiau yn ystod rownd flaenorol rhaglen Grantiau dan arweiniad Ieuenctid CGGSDd yn arddangos eu prosiectau yn ystod y digwyddaid. Hefyd byddwn yn dysgu am sut y gall gweithgareddau dan arweiniad ieuenctid gael effaith gadarnhaol ar fywydau pobl ifanc a’r cymunedau maen nhw’n byw ynddynt.
Mae lansio’r Grantiau dan arweiniad Ieuenctid yn dilyn cynllun peilot llwyddiannus yn 2018-2019 a gynhaliwyd ledled Cymru dan ymbarel consortiwm Cefnogi Trydydd Sector Cymru. Cyngor Gwasanaethau Gwirfoddol Sir Ddinbych yw braich darparu’r cymorth ymarferol yn Sir Ddinbych ar ran Cefnogi Trydydd Sector Cymru.
Fel yn ystod y cynllun peilot, bydd Panel Ieuenctid CGGSDd yn adolygu’r ceisiadau ac yn gwneud penderfyniadau cyllido o ran grantiau dan arweiniad ieuenctid CGGSdd, gyda’r bobl ifanc yn arwain fel y rhai’n gwneud penderfyniadau, adolygu ceisiadau a phenderfynu i bwy y dyfernir grantiau. Cewch ddarllen y datganiad i’r wasg am ein Panel Ieuenctid yma.
Eleni mae gan gynllun Grantiau dan arweiniad Ieuenctid Sir Ddinbych chwech blaenoriaeth, yn unol â’r nodau llesiant (y blynyddoedd cynnar, gwell iechyd meddwl, tai, sgiliau a chyflogadwyedd a gofal cymdeithasol) gyda chweched blaenoriaeth, datgarboneiddio, wedi’i ychwanegu at y rhestr flaenoriaethau. Dim ond ceisiadau sy’n ymdrin ag un neu ragor o’r blaenoriaethau hyn fydd yn gymwys.
Cafodd y chwe blaenoriaeth eu hadnabod gan Lywodraeth Cymru a rhanddeiliaid fel rhai â’r potensial i wneud y cyfraniad mwyaf i ffyniant a llesiant tymor hir.
Mae hyd at £5000 ar gael, ac mae’r trothwy ar gyfer ceisiadau wedi’i gynyddu o £400 i £2,500, i ganiatáu ar gyfer mentrau cyffrous a fydd yn medru cynyddu’r capasiti ar gyfer gweithgareddau dan arweiniad pobl ifanc. Fodd bynnag, y bobl ifanc eu hunain fydd yn penderfynu pa geisiadau y dyfernir grantiau iddynt.
Dywedodd Helen Wilkinson, Prif Weithredwr CGGSDd: “O gofio nodau Deddf Cenedlaethau’r Dyfodol a Llesiant, mae’n amserol ein bod ni’n canolbwyntio ar fuddsoddi adnoddau mewn pobl ifanc a rhoi pobl ifanc yn arweiniol fel y rhai sy’n gwneud penderfyniadau. Mae hyn yn fwy na’r modd rydym ni’n ennyn diddordeb pobl ifanc mewn cyfleoedd gwirfoddoli, mae’n ymwneud â bodloni anghenion y genhedlaeth newydd a’u grymuso fel y rhai sy’n gwneud penderfyniadau, dylanwadwyr ac asiantau newid yn eu cymuned. Rydym ni wedi ymrwymo i fuddsoddi adnoddau yn a grymuso pobl ifanc.
Gwnaeth ein profiad o gynnal y cynllun peilot y llynedd ddangos hefyd bod angen datblygu dealltwriaeth yn y trydydd sector a grwpiau gwirfoddol a chymunedol ynghylch yr hyn mae’n ei olygu i roi pobl ifanc yn arweiniol. Trwy gynnal y digwyddiad dathlu yn dangos rhai o’r mentrau gwych a gyllidwyd y tro diwethaf, rydym ni hefyd yn gobeithio tynnu sylw at beth mae rhoi pobl ifanc i arwain yn ei olygu.”

Wythnos Genedlaethol Gwirfoddolwyr
Mae Wythnos Genedlaethol Gwirfoddolwyr yn ymgyrch genedlaethol flynyddol a gynhelir rhwng 1 a 7 Mehefin. Fel rhan o’n cyfraniad ni i’r ymgyrch genedlaethol hon, bydd Cyngor Gwasanaethau Gwirfoddol Sir Ddinbych yn cynnal nifer o ddigwyddiadau a gweithgareddau mewn partneriaeth gyda’n haelodau a’n partneriaid.
Ein rôl yw gweithredu fel catalydd a lledaenu’r neges am y gweithgareddau sy’n digwydd ledled y sir. Felly, rydyn ni gystal â’r wybodaeth rydym ni’n ei derbyn gennych chi! Felly rhannwch eich cynlluniau gyda ni, os gwelwch yn dda, i wneud hwn yn ddathliad mawr gwych o gyfraniad #GwirfoddolwyrSirDdinbych
