Press release (18) - Autism Awareness Celebration Event

A well-attended event at the Naylor Leyland centre in Ruthin was held on Wednesday 3 April to celebrate the end of the Denbighshire Autism Awareness Community Engagement Project in conjunction with #AutismAwarenessWeek which runs from 1st April to 7th April. Work showcased by grant recipients representing various organisations from across Denbighshire was on display and enjoyed by the public for the drop-in session throughout the morning.

A number of groups that partook in the event included – Stand North Wales, Karma Wellbeing, Llanbedr Village Hall Committee, Bedford Street Community Company, Pentredwr Community Association and Denbigh Men’s Shed. They brought a wealth of information materials and some showed examples of their amazing work and achievements that have been enabled through our Community Led Grant Programme including: -

Woodwork
Furniture design
Glass and ceramic painting
Digital arts
Model making

At the event DVSC demonstrated the digital resources available through our website from the North Wales Integrated Autism Service. There was also a presentation from Kier Construction, who have given work placement opportunities to young adults with Autism.

DVSC Chief Executive, Helen Wilkinson said:

“The event was a great celebration and highlighted the hard work that the grant recipients had put in to their projects. All workshops provided adults with Autism with a sense of achievement and pride in a friendly, warm environment and our event was an opportunity to come together and celebrate the great work achieved.

Having all of the information available at hand for the visiting public further helps raise awareness throughout Denbighshire. It was fantastic to work with the North Wales Integrated Autism Service and we are keen to encourage all of our public service partners to invest in communication led activities allowing the legacy of work to continue. Moving forward from the event, there are various Autism resources on the DVSC website targeted at individuals, carers and organisations and accessible to the public and will continue to be updated on a regular basis"

Datganiad i'r Wasg - Dathlu Ymwybyddiaeth Awtistiaeth

Daeth cynulleidfa dda i’r digwyddiad a gynhaliwyd yng Nghanolfan Naylor Leyland yn Rhuthun ddydd Mercher, 3 Ebrill, i ddathlu diwedd Prosiect Ymgysylltu gyda’r Gymuned ynghylch Ymwybyddiaeth Awtistiaeth Sir Ddinbych ar y cyd ag #WythnosYmwybyddiaethAwtistiaeth, 1 – 7 Ebrill. Roedd gwaith a wnaed gan y rhai a dderbyniodd grantiau yn cynrychioli gwahanol fudiadau ledled Sir Ddinbych i’w weld, a gwnaeth y cyhoedd fwynhau galw heibio trwy gydol y bore.

Roedd y grwpiau wnaeth gymryd rhan yn y digwyddiad yn cynnwys - Stand North Wales, Karma Wellbeing, Pwyllgor Neuadd Bentref Llanbedr, Cwmni Cymuned Stryd Bedfrod, Cymdeithas Cymuned Pentredwr a Sied Dynion Dinbych. Roedd ganddynt lu o ddeunyddiau gwybodaeth ac roedd rhai’n arddangos esiamplau o’r gwaith gwych a grewyd a’u cyflawniadau, a alluogwyd trwy ein Rhaglen Grantiau dan arweiniad y Gymuned, yn cynnwys: -

Roedd Cyngor Gwasanaethau Gwirfoddol Sir Ddinbych (CGGSDd) yn dangos yr adnoddau digidol ar gael ar ei wefan gan Wasanaeth Awtistiaeth Integredig Gogledd Cymru. Cafwyd cyflwyniad gan gwmni Kier Constructions hefyd, sydd wedi rheoli lleoliadau profiad gwaith i oedolion ifanc ag awtistiaeth.

Dywedodd Prif Weithredwr CGGSDd, Helen Wilkinson:

“Roedd y digwyddiad yn ddathliad rhagorol ac yn tynnu sylw at y gwaith caled a wnaeth pawb a dderbyniodd grantiau ar gyfer y prosiect. Gwnaeth yr holl weithdai roi ymdeimlad o falchder a chyflawni i’r oedolion ag awtistiaeth, mewn amgylchedd cyfeillgar a chynnes, ac roedd ein digwyddiad yn gyfle i ddod ynghyd i ddathlu’r gwaith rhagorol a gyflawnwyd"

"Roedd cael yr holl wybodaeth ar gael wrth law i’w cyhoedd wnaeth alw heibio yn cynorthwyo i gynyddu ymwybyddiaeth ledled Sir Ddinbych. Roedd yn rhagorol gweithio gyda Gwasanaeth Awtistiaeth Integredig Gogledd Cymru ac rydym ni’n awyddus i annog ein holl bartneriaid gwasanaethau cyhoeddus i fuddsoddi mewn gweithgareddau wedi’u harwain gan gyfathrebu i ganiatáu i waddol y gwaith barhau. Yn dilyn y digwyddiad, mae adnoddau Awtistiaeth amrywiol ar gael ar wefan CGGSDd wedi’u targedu at unigolion, gofalwyr a mudiadau ac maen nhw ar gael i’r cyhoedd a byddant yn cael eu diweddaru’n rheolaidd.”

CGGSDd yw’r corff aelodaeth i unigolion, gwirfoddolwyr, grwpiau gwirfoddol a chymunedol, mudiadau trydydd sector a mentrau cymdeithasol sydd am greu newid.

CGGSDd yw’r Cyngor Gweithredu Gwirfoddol Sirol sy’n gweithredu yn Sir Ddinbych. Ein cenhadaeth yw creu cymunedau cydnerth trwy weithredu gwirfoddol a mentrau cymdeithasol, darparu cymorth rhagorol i’n haelodau a bod yn llai dylanwadau yn Sir Ddinbych a gogledd Cymru.

Mae CGGSDd yn gweithio’n agos gyda Chynghorau Gweithredu Gwirfoddol Sirol eraill gogledd Cymru, ac mae’n aelod o rwydwaith Cymru gyfan sydd, mewn partneriaeth gyda Chyngor Gweithredu Gwirfoddol Cymru, yn ffurfio’r bartneriaeth sy’n llunio Cefnogi Trydydd Sector Cymru.
