We would also like to encourage all DVSC members, partners, residents and people working in Denbighshire to join us in raising awareness about Autism throughout the week using the hashtag #autism #awareness. We will be running a week long social media Autism Awareness Campaign to raise awareness in Denbighshire.

The Celebration Event will bring together the six lucky grant recipients, Karma Wellbeing, Denbigh Men’s Shed, Stand, Bedford Street Community Company, Llanbedr Village Hall and Pentredwr Community Association to showcase the amazing achievements that have been enabled through our Community Led Grant Programme including: -

  • Woodwork

  • Furniture design

  • Glass and ceramic painting

  • Digital arts

  • Model making

Julie Pierce, DVSC’s Wellbeing lead says: “All workshops provided adults with Autism with a sense of achievement and pride in a friendly, warm environment and our event is an opportunity to come together and celebrate the great work achieved. At the event DVSC will also demonstrate the digital resources available through our website from the Integrated Autism Service. There will also be case studies and short films from clients who have attended these beneficial and innovative workshops along with presentations from the

Hijinx Theatre, whose casts always include actors with learning disabilities alongside Kier Construction, who have given work placement opportunities to young adults with Autism”.

The DVSC Team look forward to seeing you on the

3rd April 2019 to celebrate ‘World Autism Awareness Week’.

There is still time to support, promote and raise awareness about our #AutismAwareness campaign and to shout out about local achievements and initiatives that you know of, or if you or your organisation have become Autism Aware, then share with us through Social Media, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @DVSC_Wales or come to our Celebration event on the 3rd April and tell us what you have been up to.
