Tawel Fan – HASCAS and Okenden Review​

Following the two reports into the issues that led to the closure of the Tawel Fan Ward at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board has established an Improvement Group which has met on one occasion and a Stakeholder Group. The County Voluntary Councils had been asked for a representative and the position has been taken up by John Gallanders – Chief Officer for AVOW- Association of Voluntary Organisations in Wrexham.

The first of the Stakeholder meetings was held on 8th October 2018 to establish terms of reference and working procedure. A copy of the draft ToR for both the Improvement and Stakeholder Group can be found here.

To assist in any future discussions John will circulate agendas and minutes from the meetings and is seeking any input from Third Sector organisations across North Wales who could contribute to the future work streams that have been established. As representative it is important that information is shared amongst all stakeholders to ensure all parties are well informed to assist future improvements and avoid any such issues arising again.
