New Executive Director of Planning and Performance appointed

Mark Wilkinson has been appointed to the post of Executive Director of Planning and Performance at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

Mark is currently Transformation Director at the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership leading on Greater Manchester’s reconfiguration of pathology, radiology, and pharmacy services. Prior to that, Mark was Director of Strategic and Organisational Development at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust between 2014 and 2017 and Chief Officer at Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group from 2012 to 2014. Before that, Mark was Director of NHS Life Sciences Innovation where he worked to improve patient outcomes through increasing the uptake of cost effective medicines and medical technologies. Mark holds an International Masters Degree in Health Leadership from McGill University in Montreal.

Mark said: “I am delighted to be joining the leadership team at the Health Board. As one of the largest NHS organisations in the UK, I am confident that BCUHB will provide me with plenty of opportunities to work with colleagues to set a clear direction for the development of services that are modern, efficient and meet the needs of the people of North Wales. “It is only by working together with partners across the region that we can succeed in building on the work already done to ensure that people who need our help receive the best care possible.”

Gary Doherty, Chief Executive of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board said: “Mark is a successful leader with experience in a number of large, complex organisations. He has demonstrated his impressive experience and enthusiasm for delivering services in new and innovative ways. He brings to the Board wide-ranging healthcare expertise based on working across the NHS including primary, community and acute services as well as experience in the commercial sector. “Mark completes the recruitment to our Executive Team and we all share a determination to work together to lead the organisation to respond to the challenges we face. “We look forward to welcoming Mark to North Wales in November

Cyfarwyddwr Gweithredol Cynllunio a Pherfformiad newydd wedi'i benodi

Penodwyd Mark Wilkinson i swydd Cyfarwyddwr Gweithredol Cynllunio a Pherfformiad ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr.

Ar hyn o bryd, Mark yw'r Cyfarwyddwr Gweddnewid yn Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, yn arwain ar ad-drefnu gwasanaethau patholeg, radioleg a fferyllfa Greater Manchester. Cyn hyn, bu Mark yn Gyfarwyddwr Strategaeth a Datblygiad Sefydliadol yn Bolton NHS Foundation Trust rhwng 2014 a 2017 a Phrif Swyddog yn Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group o 2012 i 2014.

Cyn hyn, bu Mark yn Gyfarwyddwr Arloesedd Gwyddorau Bywyd y GIG, lle gweithiodd i wella canlyniadau cleifion drwy gynyddu defnyddio meddyginiaethau cost effeithiol a thechnoleg feddygol. Mae gan Mark Radd Meistr Rhyngwladol mewn Arweinyddiaeth Iechyd o Brifysgol McGill, Montreal.

Meddai Mark: "Mae'n bleser gen i ymuno â thîm arweiniol y Bwrdd Iechyd. Fel un o'r sefydliadau GIG mwyaf yn y DU, rwy'n hyderus bydd BIPBC yn rhoi llawer o gyfleoedd i mi weithio gyda chydweithwyr i osod cyfeiriad clir ar gyfer datblygu gwasanaethau sy'n fodern ac effeithiol a fydd yn cwrdd ag anghenion pobl gogledd Cymru.

"Dim ond drwy gydweithio â phartneriaid ar draws y rhanbarth byddwn yn llwyddo i adeiladu ar y gwaith a wnaed eisoes i sicrhau bod pobl sydd angen ein cymorth yn derbyn y gofal gorau posibl." Dywedodd Gary Doherty, Prif Weithredwr Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr: "Mae Mark yn arweinydd llwyddiannus gyda phrofiad mewn sawl sefydliad mawr a chymhleth. Mae o wedi arddangos ei brofiad nodedig a'i frwdfrydedd dros ddarparu gwasanaethau mewn ffyrdd newydd ac arloesol. Mae'n dod ag arbenigedd gofal iechyd amrywiol iawn i'r Bwrdd, yn seiliedig ar weithio ar draws y GIG, gan gynnwys gwasanaethau cychwynnol, cymuned a llym, yn ogystal â phrofiad yn y sector masnachol.

“Mae Marc yn cwblhau ein recriwtio i'r Tîm Gweithredol ac rydym ni oll yn bendant ein bod am gydweithio i arwain y sefydliad i ymateb i heriau a wynebwn."Edrychwn ymlaen at groesawu Mark i ogledd Cymru ym mis Tachwedd."Bydd Dr Chris Stockport, Meddyg Teulu yn Sir Ddinbych a Chyfarwyddwr Meddygol Ardal ar gyfer Conwy a Sir Ddinbych yn cymryd rôl newydd y Cyfarwyddwr Gweithredol Gofal Cychwynnol a Gwasanaethau Cymuned ym Mwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Betsi Cadwaladr.
