Building Resilient Communities
Would you like the opportunity to hear about a range of projects which are seeking to encourage communities of all different types to become more resilient?
A more resilient Wales is one of the seven goals of the Well-being of the Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, and the term resilient communities has become a common theme over the past couple of years, but what does this mean in reality? What is a community and how does it become resilient?
Wales is made up of diverse communities which draw upon a variety of characteristics. When we talk about the word ‘community’ we are talking about it in the widest sense of the word as: ‘A group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society within which it exists’. It's not just about geography.
Community resilience is about empowering individuals, businesses and community groups to:
take collective action to both increase their own resilience and that of others;
come together to identify and support vulnerable individuals;
take responsibility for the promotion of individual and business resilience.
Over the past few years, there has been a rise in the number of communities that have taken ownership of their particular community’s needs and are working together with public services. Many of the components that make a successful community group can be utilised, shared with others and adapted to suit other communities. We feel it is the right time to start sharing the learning so that both parties can benefit. If you are looking to support a community to become more resilient, then this is the seminar for you.
This seminar is delivered in partnership with Wales Co-operative Centre and Good Practice Wales.

Creu Cymunedau Cydnerth
Hoffech chi’r cyfle i glywed mwy am amrywiaeth o brosiectau sy'n ceisio annog cymunedau o bob math i ddod yn fwy cydnerth?
Mae Cymru gydnerth yn un o saith nodau Deddf Llesiant Cenedlaethau'r Dyfodol (Cymru) 2015, ac mae'r term cymunedau cydnerth wedi dod yn thema gyffredin dros yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf, ond beth mae hyn wir yn ei olygu? Beth yw cymuned a sut mae'n dod yn gydnerth?
Mae Cymru yn cynnwys cymunedau amrywiol sydd ag amrywiaeth o nodweddion. Pan fyddwn yn sôn am y gair ‘cymuned’ rydym yn golygu ystyr ehangaf y gair sef grŵp sy'n rhannu nodweddion neu ddiddordebau cyffredin ac sy'n cael ei ystyried neu sy'n ystyried ei hun yn wahanol i ryw raddau i'r gymdeithas ehangach y mae'n rhan ohoni. Nid yw'n ymwneud â daearyddiaeth yn unig.
Mae cydnerthedd cymuned yn ymwneud â grymuso unigolion, busnesau a grwpiau cymunedol i wneud y canlynol:
gweithredu ar y cyd i gynyddu eu cydnerthedd eu hunain a chydnerthedd eraill;
dod ynghyd i nodi a chefnogi unigolion sy'n agored i niwed;
cymryd cyfrifoldeb am hyrwyddo cydnerthedd unigolion a busnesau.
Dros yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf, mae nifer y cymunedau sydd wedi cymryd cyfrifoldeb am anghenion eu cymunedau penodol ac sy'n gweithio gyda gwasanaethau cyhoeddus wedi cynyddu. Gall llawer o'r elfennau sy'n gwneud grŵp cymunedol llwyddiannus gael eu defnyddio, eu rhannu ag eraill a'u haddasu ar gyfer cymunedau eraill. Teimlwn mai dyma'r amser cywir i ddechrau rhannu'r hyn a ddysgir fel y gall y ddau barti gael budd. Os hoffech helpu i greu cymuned fwy cydnerth, dyma'r seminar i chi.
Mae’r seminar hon yn cael ei redeg mewn partneriaeth â Chanolfan Cydweithredol Cymru ac Arfer Da Cymru.
