DVSC Celebrates its 3rd anniversary as a Living Wage Employer

We have recently celebrated our 3rd anniversary as a Living Wage employer having become accredited in August 2016 after the arrival of our Chief Exec Helen Wilkinson

When asked about the Living Wage last year Helen said …

”I am passionate about tackling poverty and believe that tackling in work poverty is a big challenge facing Denbighshire, and the rest of Wales so one of my first acts as DVSC’s Chief Executive was to seek accreditation as a Living Wage employer.

I felt that as the membership body for the third sector in Denbighshire, part of DVSC’s role should be to model best practice and to positively encourage third sector organisations to think about becoming a Living Wage employer”

What is the Living Wage?

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate that is voluntarily paid by over 4,400 UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a fair day's pay for a hard day's work.

The rates are announced on Monday of the first week of November each year, which is inclusive of Living Wage Week. To read DVSC's Press Release on last year's Living Wage Week click here.
