There is no fee and our doors are open to all

HOW CAN OPEN DOORS HELP ME?

If you want some company, need support or guidance or maybe just a cuppa and a chat then feel free to pop in and say hello to our friendly team.

We offer advice and support in finding volunteering placements and provide information about further learning opportunities available in your local community.

Open Doors is also a Wellbeing Point; a community space where individuals can come together to support each other and enhance their wellbeing and that of others and access useful information and advice.

It is also a place to come together on a Friday afternoon and have some fun!

HOW CAN I HELP OPEN DOORS?

Do you have a certain skill, hobby or craft that you would like to share?   Whether it be Salsa dancing, wood carving or knitting we can provide the space and opportunity for you to show off your passion. Why not pool your knowledge, and share your skills, and life experiences with others?

HOW DID IT START?

Open Doors started out as a Job Club supporting our first Active Inclusion Employability project in 2016.   It has since grown  to include a wide range of activities;  providing support for getting people online, Job searching and learning how to use social media.

Sessions are shaped by the people who walk through our doors and our Open Doors volunteers like Wayne and Lavinia who lead sessions and inspire others.

Read their stories here.

FEEL INTIMIDATED BY TECHNOLOGY?

You are not alone!   We can help you get online. Laptops and tablets are available for your use or you can bring your own tablets/smart phones.

Our friendly and skilled volunteers can guide you on how to use them, and you can share tips with others.

We also run FREE training sessions from time to time.  Subscribe for news updates and keep an eye on the activities timetable to see what’s happening.
